Our Founding Story
Desert Bloom Babysitting was founded in January 2025 by Talia Vazquez and Kamille Benson, two longtime friends who shared a vision for a more thoughtful, enriching approach to childcare.
With backgrounds in childhood development and family support, Talia and Kamille combined their strengths to create a service rooted in connection, care, and community.
What started as a passion project during their senior year of college, Desert Bloom has since grown into a full-fledged babysitting company serving families across the Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe area.
The Montessori Approach
Montessori is an educational philosophy developed by Dr. Maria Montessori that emphasizes independence, hands-on learning, and respect for a child’s natural development. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach, Montessori encourages children to learn at their own pace through exploration, creativity, and self-directed activity. It focuses on nurturing the whole child: socially, emotionally, and intellectually, by providing a calm, structured environment with purposeful activities that build confidence, concentration, and curiosity. At Desert Bloom Babysitting, we incorporate these principles into our daily care to help children grow into capable, thoughtful, and joyful learners.
